Apple Picking; Farm Photography in Late Fall
Date: Early-September 2025
Location: Northern MA/Southern NH
Vibe/ Theme: Moody late-fall harvest, rural farm stories, documentary-style landscape & details
I spent a quiet late-autumn afternoon capturing the moody, end-of-season energy on an apple farm. Using a long lens on my Canon to stay at a distance, I focused on candid, storytelling moments—from figures walking up the hill in the crisp air to the quiet textures of fallen apples and rustic farm life. Take a look at the full set to experience the cozy, authentic rhythm of late fall on the orchard.
The Highlights & Visuals
The Energy: Quiet, grounded, and atmospheric. The farm had that serene, end-of-apple season energy, capturing everything from chickens roaming near an old rustic shed to a weary farm worker taking a quiet, rest break on a bench.
The Setup: Kept it simple and unobtrusive using my Canon paired with a long-barrel lens. Shooting from afar allowed me to blend into the background, compressing the background for a cinematic feel while capturing totally unscripted, natural moments.
Featured Shots / Moments:
- Silhouettes of people wandering up the autumn hillside in the cool light.
- A candid, respectful moment of a tired worker resting on a bench (shot from behind).
- Rich seasonal details: scattered apples on the ground, weathered wood, and roaming farm chickens.
